ALICE SIRONI

Migration Law Specialist, International Migration Law Unit, IOM.

Dr Sironi trains governments officials and other stakeholders on international standards applicable to migration, reviews legislation to ensure compliance with international migration law and does research in this area.

Currently, she is serving as Head of Migrant Protection and Health Unit at IOM Tunis.

Prior to joining IOM, Dr Sironi worked as a legal officer in the Office of the Legal Adviser of the ILO, as a consultant on economic, social and cultural rights of migrants for the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights and in a law firm dealing with migrants rights.

Dr Sironi holds a PhD in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Naples, Italy. She studied law at the Sorbonne University of Paris and holds a master on the Protection of Human Rights in Europe from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes of Strasbourg.

Within the intensive course she will offer her views on the protection of migrants in situations of disaster.
